Redtail Bed

The queen sized “Redtail” bed. The headboard is made from a single piece of 300 year old walnut root that was opened up and joined to a bubinga center post. The center post is inlayed with a design intended to evoke the plumage of a red-tailed hawk so as to accentuate the wing-like qualities of shape and grain of the headboard. The curly grain of the walnut tells the tale of the strains put upon it by the massive tree that it held upright. The legs are fixed in place using classic through-tenon joints and bubinga wedges.
